Install Phantom

Ten minutes, start to finish. Chrome on Windows is the primary path. Mac and locked-down machines use the unpacked zip instead.

Before you start

You need two things:

• Your license key. It arrives in Discord after you’re approved, and looks like PH-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX. One key covers 3 device slots. A device slot is one Chrome profile.
• Google Chrome, plus your personal download link. The bot DMs that link to you when you’re approved.

Windows install

This is the main install path. Have Phantom.crx saved first. See downloading the extension below if you haven’t done that yet.

1. Run this command in PowerShell (as Administrator)

   Right-click the Start button, open PowerShell as Administrator, then paste this in exactly as written and press Enter. It adds the Phantom extension ID to Chrome’s install allowlist.

   reg add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallAllowlist" /v 1 /t REG_SZ /d "gkadkmklnhofelkagjakehfophecglmi" /f

   The long string is Phantom’s extension ID, gkadkmklnhofelkagjakehfophecglmi. Copy the whole line. Don’t retype it.

2. Close all Chrome windows completely

   Every window, not just the active one. Chrome only reads the new policy on a cold start.

3. Reopen Chrome, go to chrome://extensions

   Type that into the address bar. It won’t come up in search results.

4. Turn on Developer mode (top right)

5. Drag and drop Phantom.crx onto the page, then click Add extension

   Drop the file anywhere on the extensions page. Chrome will ask you to confirm.

Downloading the extension

Use the personal download link that was DM’d to you when you were approved. It’s tied to you, so don’t share it.

1. Click your download link

   Chrome saves Phantom.bin to your Downloads folder.

2. Rename it to Phantom.crx

   Open Downloads, right-click Phantom.bin, choose Rename, and change the extension to .crx. (Chrome serves it as .bin so the download isn’t blocked.)

3. Load it

   Go to chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, then drag and drop Phantom.crx onto the page.

Mac & locked-down machines

If the extension toggle stays greyed out and won’t turn on, use the unpacked zip instead: in our Discord install channel, click 🍎 Get my Mac link. The bot DMs you a personal zip with your key already in it. Extract Phantom.zip, go to chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select the Phantom folder.

Heads up: unpacked installs do not auto-update. That’s a Chrome limitation on this method. Phantom shows a banner in the popup when a new version is out; redownload the zip and reload it each time.
